Lot’s of news this week so here goes:
Dec. 24th – two practices, 6am and 7:30am. We are doing 2x50x50 repeats.
Dec. 25th – two practices, 7am and 8am.
Dec. 31st – two practices, 6am and 7:30am. This will be our third and final repeat workout.
Coaches: Just FYI, over half the coaching staff will be out of town from now until after Christmas or until after January. Coaches Al, Liz, and Kate will be holding down the fort for the bulk of the workouts.
USMS renewal: Reminder that it is due by December 31st.
MVM payments: If you want to change your plan to monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual payments, reach out to treasurer no later than December 30th.
Booster shots for COVID: All members are vaccinated and I know many of you have received the booster shot. In the interest of keeping you and our swim community safe, please consider getting a booster sooner rather than later if you have not received the boost. Currently MVM is not mandating the booster. This is just a suggestion. For more information: https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2021/12/16/deluge-of-omicron-covid-santa-clara-county-booster-variant/
One hour USMS Virtual Championship: USMS is holding a 1-hour virtual championship swim (formerly called the 1-hour postal) during the month of January. There is a $1,000 prize to the team with the highest percentage of swimmers that enter as well as other prizes. Let’s do this for MVM! Entry fee is $15. We are trying to get as many swimmers as possible to enter. We will designate a few days in January for the event. On event days we plan to have coffee and homemade baked good as we will have worked up an appetite with the swim. Plus, a fun event (to be revealed) for all those that swim the 1-hour virtual championship. You don’t want to miss it and it will probably involve food. 🙂 Coaches are going to start recruiting so be ready!
