Hello MVMers!
I hope you are having a nice holiday. News of the week:
Holiday Hours: 6:00 and 7:30am this Friday, December 31st. It will be our last set of repeats. If you want to do 100 repeats then come at 6am.
7:00 and 8:00am on Saturday, January 1st. If you swim the second workout then be prepared to stay after practice to put covers back on the pool.
Some special shout outs: Thank you Coach Flo for your time and effort to keep our MVM website updated. Thank you Kyle Halkola for altering the pool cover handle so that we can pull covers more efficiently. Kyle saved the team more than $200. And a thank you to all that have stayed this past week to put covers back on the pool after practice. It’s a challenge compared to pulling them. Much appreciated!
One hour USMS Virtual Championship: We are encouraging all MVMers to sign up for this 1-hour event. If enough of us sign up we can win money. Besides, it will be nice to beat other teams. π We will have designated event days, which should be fun. Homemade, baked goodies for all who participate. All you have to do (besides enter) is show up and swim for an hour. Plan to stay for another hour to count laps for another swimmer because a swimmer will be counting for you. MVM will supply clipboards, pens, and time sheets. We’ll let you know the event days, which will probably happen on Sundays. You can do whatever you want during that hour – free, non-free, stop and rest, etc. No pressure! This is a fun event. Return to Eagle: Most likely we won’t get back to Eagle until February but no firm date yet. Construction and repairs are taking longer than the City expected.
USMS Registration: I’m sure most of you have registered with USMS for 2022. If you have not then this is a gentle reminder. You won’t be able to swim starting Jan 1 if you haven’t registered. You have five more days.
Happy Swimming and Happy New Year! MVM
