Hello MVMers,
Pool Covers: The new pool covers are here and the City is going to start covering the pool this coming Sunday night. That means Monday, October 7th is the first day the covers need to be pulled. To repeat, starting this coming Monday we will be pulling covers. Swimmers who come to the first practices should now plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of practice.
MVM Board Meeting: The monthly board meeting will be held this coming Tuesday, October 8th, from 6:30-8:00pm. All MVM members are allowed to listen in. Contact me if you are interested and I will send you the link.
Pancake breakfast: Quick reminder, this coming Saturday, October 5th, pancake breakfast at Al and Anita’s house. Address is 1761 Pilgrim Avenue in Mountain View. Just head over after Saturday swim practice. Or head over Saturday morning even if you didn’t swim. Bring yourself and your appetite!
Golden Gate Bridge Swim: Congrats to everyone who did the swim! Epic!!!
Etiquette item: I hope all who attended the Swim ‘n Schmear last Saturday enjoyed themselves. Quick reminder to pick up after yourself, don’t just leave your plate, cup, napkin, etc. on the table. Otherwise it’s up to the last people to pick up after everyone. Thanks in advance for your help with this. Next Swin ‘n Schmear scheduled for October 26th.
From Coach Tina: “There is a really beautiful story in the latest issue of Swimmer magazine about Mr. Rogers and his devotion to lap swimming as well as promoting swimming for people of all races. I think a lot of us grew up watching him. I never knew he was a swimmer!”
