Hi MVMers, here’s the latest and a lot going on. 🙂
Return to Eagle: Unless you hear otherwise we will be back at Eagle Pool (and the BIG locker rooms) this coming Monday. Monday evening workouts will also resume at Eagle.
USMS Registration: So far fifty people have registered with USMS for 2026. Thank-you! That is a lot considering we are only two weeks into it. If you happened to register as ‘Unattached’ then please change your club to MVM. It’s really easy. Just go to usms.org and sign into your account. You will see a link that says ‘Transfer my Membership’. Should take about a minute. If you register with another club (which is totally OK) then could you let me know? This will save me time when I confirm everyone at the end of the year.
November Happy Hour: This will be our final happy hour of the year and we’ll go to Cascal. Address is 400 Castro Street in Mountain View. Meet there at 5:30pm. MVM will pay for appetizers. Don’t need to register, just show up. 🙂
Thanksgiving Workout: We will have our traditional Thanksgiving workout, which is 50 repeats every 1.5 minutes.Workouts are 6:30 and 7:45. If you plan to swim the first workout then please arrive at 6:15 to pull covers so we can start promptly at 6:30. We will have to put covers back on at the end of the second workout.
Day after Thanksgiving workout: The day after Thanksgiving, Friday the 28th, our workout hours are 6am, 7am, and 8am. We will have to pull covers as well as put them on after the last workout.
End of the Year Holiday Party: Holiday party will be at Shoup Park on December 13th. We will put together a ‘year in review’ slide show. If anyone has a picture from an MVM event you’d like to share, please email it to me and I will forward to Martha Branch.
Kick for Time!!: We will hold a USMS sanctioned event on December 6th. It’s called Kick for Time. For details click here. It’s a postal therefore you do the event first then send in your entry after. We’ll hold the event during the Saturday morning workout. As an added bonus we will have a Swim ‘n Schmear the same day. Do a workout, do some kicking, do some eating! If you want to do Kick for Time but can’ make in on Saturday then you can do it on your own another day.
