Weekly Email – 10/6

Hello MVMers, Happy October! Here’s the latest:

New members: Welcome! One perk of being a member is that you can get a lap card, which allows you to swim (free) during the City of Mountain View lap swims hours. It could come in handy in case you miss our morning workout but really want to get in the water later in the day. Here’s the link for more information: City of Mountain View – Lap Swim Appointments

Competition: For those who are interested in swim meets, they are done for the year. The first one coming up is next year on January 21st at Santa Rosa Junior College. More details as it gets closer.

Other competition: Brute squad! This is a postal event and you can do it any time between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31. Brute Squad is a 200 fly, 400 IM, and 1650 free swim. Perfect for anyone who wants to start the day with a 300 fly. There is now a Brute Squad Lite where the distances are cut in half. Let a coach know if you are interested in participating because you have to get someone to time you to make it official. We’ll make arrangements and you will get a lane of your own.
